"DEAR DIARY"...Adventures in Blackpool! Wednesday, May 24th, 2000 Well, we're off to the airport. It was tight, but we finally managed to pack what we needed for our trip. We always seem to pack more clothes than we need -- but with eight days and nights, it seems to be inevitable. Unfortunately, because we had booked later, we fly into London and then to Manchester airport. Then it's about a 45 minute taxi/cab ride from Manchester to Blackpool -- had to call the taxi company to arrange ahead of time as so many people will be flying in. We also got a better rate for a "round-trip" fare. Because this is England, everyone drives on the "left" side of the road. ARGHHH!!! Actually, there is a funny story that the reason why Ballroom dancers dance counter-clockwise around the floor is because of the English, who would drive that way. Don't know if this is fact or fiction, but seems to make some sense!
