75th Blackpool DanceSport Festival: May 26th - June 2nd, 2000

"DEAR DIARY"...Adventures in Blackpool!

The first events took place on Friday. There were many people in attendance as spectators already on this first official day of the Blackpool British Open Championships. Thanks to Anthony Sharratt of DanceActive Magazine for providing photos and results:

2nd Kevin & Christine Millward - England
3rd Akira Ito & Hiroko Tokoro - Japan
4th Domizio Giovannini & Annisa Baldo - Italy
5th Mark Sheldon & Didi Von Deck - USA
6th Patrizio Paroni & Marina Prosperi - Italy

Congratulations also to Alain Doucet and Anik Jolicoeur for reaching the semi-finals (Anik was sporting a black wig, which gave the team a dramatic new look), and to all the other North American, European, and Asia-Pacific dancers for their results. Every round, we were all wishing our favourites to go through and hearts were with them as they put their hearts and souls into their performances.
